The Joint Stock Company "Sophia" is one of the biggest producers in Ukraine of knitted garments. Manufacturing was established in the early sixties and during last 15 years was fully reequipped with modern, high-productive machinery from leading European producers. At the moment the factory has some 700 employees working in 3 production departments. The knitting machinery numbers to 55 Stoll (German) flat knitting machines, 5 Universal (German) flat knitting machines and 15 Jumberka (Spanish) circular knitting machines meeting every conceivable knitting requirements in gauges from 3rd to 12th. The sewing equipment of the leading companies Jukki, Brother, Duerkopp, Textima, installed on 6 sewing production lines make it possible to apply the most up-to-date technologies of fabric tailoring.

At the moment the productive capacity of the enterprise amounts to about 1,5 million knitted garments annually, more than 80 per cent of which are exported to EU countries. The assortment of produced outfits includes the following - men's, women's and children's pullovers, slipovers, cardigans, jackets, coats, scarves, hats, etc. Cooperation on CM, CMT and full-price basis with such well-known companies as "Canda" (C&A Group, Germany), "UK International" (France), "Jammers & Leufgen" (Germany) "Falke" (Germany), "ZARA" (Spain), "LE-GO" (Germany) confirms the high level of produced manufacture quality. The company develops its own collections and sells them under the private labels: Brex, Sofiline and Bravadi in the factory outlet and through big retailer shops in Ukraine.

JSC "Sophia" works by completely respecting the actual labor, security and environmental care legislation of Ukraine. Moreover the company considers the work place situation, the disability regulations and Ukrainian, European and US rules on manufacture of goods. Recently the JSC "Sophia" on the request of Jones Apparel Group (USA) was monitored by Interteck Testing Services (ITS) on compliance with the Labour Code of Ukraine and the Jones Apparel Group Standards for Contractors and Suppliers and got good evaluation.
